How Kids to Hire was Born
The inspiring story behind our platform connecting kids and teens with local jobs that started in West Linn, OR.
Henry's Story
Henry was just 12 years old when he discovered how much he loved helping his neighbors with chores like yard work, snow shoveling, and pet care. Along the way, he built friendships, earned compliments for his strong work ethic, and realized how many adults – especially older ones – truly needed help. Sometimes, he even volunteered his time to those in special need.
Inspired by Henry's example, his friends wanted to join in, and Henry realized the opportunity was bigger than just himself. With help from his entrepreneurial grandfather, Henry created Kids to Hire — a program that gives kids and teens a chance to earn money, learn responsibility, and build meaningful connections with neighbors. The project is a heartwarming collaboration between generations, designed to bring communities together and support both youth development and the needs of local adults.

Our Mission
At Kids to Hire, our mission is to empower kids and teens to learn responsibility, build strong work ethic, and foster community connections by helping neighbors with everyday chores. Founded on the vision of a 12-year-old and guided by the wisdom of his grandfather, we strive to create opportunities for young people to earn, grow, and give back – while making life easier for adults in their local neighborhoods.
